What we do
A backflow device or assembly prevents cross contamination between used water from an individual customer and the clean water supplied to rest of the public.
The SC Department of Environmental Services mandates that backflow prevention devices or assemblies must be tested annually to ensure proper function. Your water company sends you an annual test notice, normally with a 30-day period to have the test taken care of. Failure to schedule a test may result in a fine or shutting off your water depending on the water company policy.

Domestic, Fire and Irrigation devices-we test and repair them all!
*Devices with limited access, requiring digging out or pumping out water/entry into underground vaults may incur additional fees.

Businesses that rely on constant water availability: we coordinate appointments around your schedule (hotels between check in/check out times) or after hours (restaurants, medical facilities) as needed. And as always, we file all required paperwork with your water company and can perform repairs on the devices if needed.

Who we are
1st Due Backflow LLC is a Veteran owned Charleston area small business with two SC DHEC Certified testers on staff. Established in 2019 by 2 local firefighters, the company transitioned to a sole owner LLC January 2022 to streamline operations. In June 2024, we purchased and started operating Backflows N Stuff LLC. Our business is focused on providing our neighbors a reasonably priced, backflow device testing and repair service.

As a locally owned small business, low overhead allows us to provide fast, efficient testing services at a reasonable price. No kidding, check prices! Some customers report paying $95 - 130 for residential tests that we charge $40 for! Commercial property customers too! Watch out for price matches but then add a "truck charge" or flat rate replacement pricing.
*Please note that our standard pricing covers most readily accessible devices. Devices located in underground vaults, buried, require pumping of ground water etc. may add to the base price. Repairs or replacement devices are quoted based on the damage or parts needed.
